| The Dunbar
field comprises one oil/gas production platform ("Dunbar")
and two subsea tie-ins to the Ellon and Grant fields. A tender Support
Vessel provides drilling support.
The platform itself receives power
and water injection facilities from the Alwyn North platform.
Its production facilities include 16
production wells (6 of which are pre-drilled), 6 water injection
wells, 6 spare slots, HP, LP and water injection manifolds and has
provision for future tie-ins and facilities.
Designed for "minimum
manning" operation, the accommodation block comprises 13 two-man
cabins for a normal POB of 16.
Operating at reservoir depths of
between 3360 and 3650m (subsea) oil production stands at 50,000bpd and
gas at 9mmscmd. Oil is sent to Sullom Voe, Shetland and gas to
Total’s St. Fergus terminal, via the Frigg pipeline.
The platform’s overall size has
been reduced by use of tender-assisted drilling (the Sedco 706 Tender
Support Vessel provides mud and cement facilities, drilling crew
accommodation and utility support) - the Dunbar weighs in at 11,200
tonnes (topsides) with a jacket of 9,250 tonnes.
