ADMA-OPCO operates the exploration, development and production activities of oil and gas in Abu Dhabi's offshore concession area. Many reservoirs were discovered by ADMA-OPCO in its concession but oil and gas production comes only from two fields, Umm Shaif and Zakum. The output of oil and gas from these fields is transported to the company's centre of operations on Das Island for processing, storage and export via the Island's Terminal.

Recent production levels have been of the order of 520,000 BOPD and 1045 MSCF per day of gas.

The Operating Procedures were developed using a methodology that recognised and addressed the "human" factor necessary for any operating procedures to maximise the safety and integrity of plant operations.

Our procedures actively encouraged the participation of operations staff in its development and this ensured :

That these personnel were fully familiarity and endorsed the operating procedures.
Operating expertise and problem-solving skills were not only retained but made
available for everyone.
Operating practices were standardised.

The operating procedures were designed to ensure the safe operating of the plant and structured as follows :

The initial safe and stable state of the installation at the commencement of any
operation was  defined
The final safe and stable state of the installation at the completion of any
operation was defined.
The most direct route between the initial and final state was identified. This :
Was then broken down into the elementary steps necessary for the safe i
mplementation of any operation.

Had each activity in each elementary step defined in a clear and unambiguous manner.

Thus, the principle of safe operation was that, should any incident occur, the operators would take the operation back to the next safe and stable state.
